Here's a map from Thessaloniki to Langadas, which is ominously covered by a cloud. It didn't put out the fire.

I haven't listened to this episode yet but there are some things that you should bear in mind.

1- Coals are nearly burned out wood, they don't generate as much heat as burning wood.
2- Ash is a powerful heat insulator, exactly because it is entirely burned out
3-Although modern way life and comfortable shoes have changed our nature, feet were designed to step on hard ground an have very few nerves.

So, walking on burning coal is more a feat of the mind than a physical one, it requires more effort to overcome your fear than to actually do it.

well, I've read several places that non-Anastenaria have tried it and gotten burned.
I've been scarred by things that haven't been on fire, so I'm not going to try it anything soon.

Also, if feet have few nerves, how does that explain the popularity of foot massages?
